Yolanda Mendez, 59, of Plainview, passed away on June 9, 2017 with her loving family at her side.
Yolanda was born January 10, 1958 in Campbellton, Texas to Alfredo Mendez, Sr. and Angelina Guerra Mendez. She worked for years as a Certified Nurse's Aide and found immense satisfaction in taking care of others. She enjoyed sewing, reading and dancing. Yolanda loved roses and gardening. Her grandchildren brought her boundless joy. She loved her family dearly. Yolanda attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Angelina Mendez; one son, Joe Gonzales and girlfriend, Maria Loya of San Antonio; three daughters, Becky Gonzales and boyfriend Adam Montemayor, Maria Flores and boyfriend Lorenzo Cuellar and Linda Gonzales and boyfriend Scott Ferguson, all of Plainview. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
