Wilma Lemons, 91 of Plainview and Arlington, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025. A visitation will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 11, 2025 with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Private burial will be held at Plainview Memorial Park. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.
Wilma was born on February 18, 1933, in Quanah, Hardeman County, Texas, to Edward Orme Wykes and Ruby Forbes Wykes.
Wilma attended Quanah elementary school and graduated from Quanah High School. She attended and graduated from Midwestern University and Wayland Baptist College. She went on to teach English in Hart, Texas for Hart ISD. She was a member of Arlington, Texas First Baptist Church, and Teacher Masons retirement home in Arlington, Texas for eight years. She was also a Sunday school teacher in Hart, Plainview, and Arlington, Texas.
Wilma was a very active and successful businesswoman.
She is predeceased by one daughter, Suzanne Lemons, her parents, Edward and Ruby Wykes, husband, Warren Lemons, Dale McMennamy, three sisters, Louise Danielson, Rosemary Tisdall, and Frances Searcey, and grandson, Chad Lemons.
Wilma is survived by her sons, Keith Lemons and wife, Pamela of Fort Worth, and Brent Lemons and wife, Kathy of Plainview, one step daughter, Michelle McMennamy Scott and husband, Zach of Arlington, five grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
