A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church located at 2153 FM 788, with Apostle David Gardner officiating. There will be a Wake held from 6:00-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14 at the church.

Willie Bell was born on December 29, 1940 in Temple, Texas to T.C. and Willie Mae (Simmons) Carter. She married Ray Brigham in 1972 and they were married until his passing.

Willie Bell devoted her life to caring for her children and grandchildren. Her family describes her as a caring, loving woman who was "grandmamma" to so many. She loved everyone and took care of anyone that she could. She marched to the beat of her own drum and her friends say that "she was a genuine person, as real as they come".

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Brigham in 2000 and her son, Lee Roger Carter in 2006.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Tammy Carter and Earane Carter, both of Plainview and Charlene M. Carter of Marlin; eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
