William Davis, age 95, of New Braunfels, TX, formerly of Plainview, passed away on June 30, 2020. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 6, 2020 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Lemons Funeral Home. A Celebration of his life will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Burial will take place at Wanship Cemetery in Wanship, Utah. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Bill was the ninth of ten children born to Charles and Orletta Davis. He was the last surviving child at the time of his death. His wife of 67 \years, Lucile Claire Davis, died in November of 2016. He is survived by 5 children, William G. Davis, Craig L. Davis, Kevin B. Davis, Leanne Davis, and Lanette Davis. He had 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Bill served in the Navy during World War II and was drafted into the Army during the Korean War. He was released from service after finishing his basic training. He served a 2 and 1/2 year mission in The Netherlands for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints after his service in the Navy.

Bill earned his B.S and M. S from Utah State University. His PhD was earned at North Carolina State University. He went on to enjoy a successful career in plant breeding for several companies. He held multiple patents for his work.

He was known for his generosity when needs arose. He will be missed by his family.
