Wiley Wilford Smith, 71, of Plainview, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017.

Graveside Memorial Services will be held at a later date at Parklawn Memorial Park.

Wilford was born on November 25, 1945 in Plainview to Jack and Rose Pauline (Files) Smith.  He married Gloria Biddle on August 7, 1970 in Plainview and they raised their family here.

He worked for 30 years at Hastey Construction Company specializing in Research & Development.  He was really pleased this past NFL season with the amazing record his Dallas Cowboys had.  Wilford enjoyed spending time with his family and they will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Jacquline Rose Jones and Myra Faye Mickey.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 46 years, Gloria of the home; one son, Kirk Smith and wife Celeste of Plainview and one daughter, Kittreena "Kitty" Perez of Plainview; 6 grandchildren, Kevin Perez and wife Shannan, Britny Perez, Quinten Smith, Kathana Smith, Kaiden Smith and Gage Smith and one great-grandson, K.J. Perez.  He is also survived by one sister, Julia "Judy" Chambliss of Missouri; one step-sister, Jeanne Foraker Jones; two step-brothers, Ronnie Foraker and Lonnie Foraker; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.
