Wanda Grace Sylvester, age 91, a lifelong Plainview resident, died Wednesday November 29, 2023. Born November 23, 1932, in Plainview to Jack and Lorene Ellis, and had one sister, Kay Todd and one brother, Don Ellis.

She attended Plainview schools and graduated from Colorado Women's College in Denver, Colorado. Wanda married Bill Sylvester in 1955. They were married over 65 years until his death in 2020. During their early years of marriage, Wanda enjoyed living on their family farm and being a busy homemaker raising their two daughters.

Wanda will be remembered and missed most dearly as a loyal wife, mother, and friend. Wanda was a beautiful lady, in her appearance, her heart and her soul. She loved and cherished her family above all else in life and took pride in her children and grandchildren's accomplishments and achievements.

She was a beloved child of God who is now at rest in Heaven with her Savior. Mrs. Sylvester is survived by her two daughters, Cindy Tye of Plainview, and Rhonda and husband John Erwin of Waco; and grandchildren Ross Weathers and wife Christine of Fort Worth, and Grace Grooms and husband Carter of Tyler;  two great-grandchildren, Annie, and Walker Grooms.

A family graveside service will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, December 1, 2022, in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Lubbock, Texas. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview.
