Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Parklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Lemons Funeral Home.

Virginia R. Brewer was born on January 22, 1933 in Wink, Texas to George Duncan and Auttie (Angel) Roberts. She attended Plainview High School.

She spent most of her life as a homemaker and loved her children dearly. From their childhood, her children remember her as a passionate Dallas Cowboy Fan and also loved playing Bingo. She also enjoyed raising parakeets and she was an avid bird watcher, having always kept a hummingbird feeder in her yard.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leon Harkins and two sisters.

Survivors include one daughter, Vickie Ball and husband Charles of Baytown, Texas; two sons, Dennis Harkins and wife Mae of Plainview and Jerry Harkins of Kingsland; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
