Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Lemons Memorial Chapel with Rev. Lupe Moreno officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Friday at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home, Plainview, Texas.

Victor was born October 2, 1953 in Lockney, Texas to Victor Rodriguez, Sr. and Olivia Olivarez Rodriguez.

As the eldest child in the family, Victor was committed to instilling good values in his younger siblings. Throughout his high school years at Plainview High School, he was a musician as the lead guitarist and singer of the youth choir at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainview. He also ran track in high school. Upon graduation, Victor, Jr. volunteered and enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He was honorably discharged in 1975.

Victor, Jr. was a jack of all trades with careers as a security officer in Chicago, Ill; apartment maintenance, shipping and delivery and custodial maintenance in Dallas. His final career which he loved, was working for the U.S. Forest Service in Las Vegas, NM. Upon his retirement, he received recognition for improvement of the camp area during his tenure there.

He enjoyed family gatherings and grilling at "el ranchito" where he grew up.

Every day, Victor, Jr. began his day with this prayer:
"Jesus, be my eyes because Jesus, You can see more than me "

He was preceded in death by his brother Alfredo Rodriguez.

Survivors include his parents; 3 children, Samuel, Angelica and Victoria; 6 sisters, June Azua, Helen Peters, Yesenia Pardo, Gracie Adams, Juanita Ortega and Rosita Hernandez; 7 brothers, Oscar Rodriguez, Richard Rodriguez, Ruben Rivera, Bobby Cervantes, Michael Cervantes, David Luna and Raul Rodriguez.
