Obituary

Troy Leon Tucker, age 94, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026, in Mescalero, New Mexico. A graveside service for Mr. Tucker will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Plainview Cemetery. Graveside services are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

Troy was born on October 20, 1931, in Littlefield, Texas to Walter Lee Tucker and Carla (Adams) Tucker. After high school, Troy ran the family farm until he was drafted and served our country in the Unites States Army during the Korean War.

After serving our country, Troy worked in the oilfield all over West Texas and offshore in the Gulf for Chevron. He was a master mechanic and there was never an engine that he could not tear apart, diagnose and rebuild. He could fix any mechanical problem.

Troy retired from Chevron in 1999, and lived in South Louisiana for 50+ years, he then moved to a place he loved, Ruidoso, New Mexico until his passing.

Those left to cherish his legacy and memory are his sons, Steve Tucker of North Richland Hills, TX, Larry Tucker and wife, Kayla of Midland, TX; his daughter, Kathi Secoy of North Richland Hills, TX; his grandchildren, Penny Austin (Glenn), Aaron Tucker, Alesha Yocom (Kerry), John Palmer, Joseph Palmer, Todd Tucker, Tara Steadman, Chad Tucker, Landree Page, Channing Page (Ashley), Anthony Meyers (Heidi), and Jaclyn Meyers; eleven great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Horn of El Paso, TX, and his bonus children, Buck Phillips of New Orleans, LA and Deborah Lynn Phillips of New Iberia, LA.

Troy is preceded in death by his wife, Lynette (Nettie) Phillips Tucker, his father, Walter Tucker, his mother and stepfather, Sam and Carla (Sookie) Moore, and his brothers, Walter Lee (Butch) Tucker and Scott Tucker.
