Hale Center-Tom Dyer, 60, of Hale Center, passed away at home on Monday, June 24, 2013. A memorial service to honor his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at First United Methodist Church of Hale Center, at 202 W. Stevenson Avenue. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview.
Thomas Cleveland Dyer was born May 21, 1953 to Lindol and Jackie (Childress) Dyer. Tom graduated from Hale Center High School and attended Howard Payne College, where he was on the basketball and golf teams. Tom was self employed and was a Harley-Davidson biking enthusiast.
Tom is survived by his son, Chris Dyer and his wife, Pam; two grandchildren: Jake Dyer and Elizabeth Dyer, all of Orlando, Florida; his daughter, Jill Ellison of Lubbock; nephews, Mark Dyer and Lane Dyer; niece, Tonya Thompson; and his best friend, Pam Clark, of Hale Center. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Lindol Dyer Jr.; and his sister, Necia Dyer.
