Ted Givens Herring, age 84, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025, in Plainview, Texas. A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, June 27 in Tipton, Oklahoma, where Ted was born to J.D. Sr. and Nettie Norine (Purdy).

Ted is survived by his son, Tod Herring and wife Judy of San Angelo, daughter, Lora Harris and husband George of College Station, four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren, sisters, Alice Connell and Sara West, and brother, John Olds.

Ted is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, J.D. Jr., and Jimmy Herring, and one grandson, Marcus Fergerson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Meals on Wheels of Plainview or the Plainview Health Care Center.

The family wishes to "Thank" the people of Plainview and the entire staff of the Plainview Health Care Center for all their support and assistance over the past couple of years. It takes a community, not only in the beginning, but again toward the end.
