Shawn Eugene Roberts, 50 of Plainview, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024, at his residence. Viewing for Mr. Roberts will be at 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be at 11:00am, Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Harvest Christian Fellowship Church in Plainview with Pastor M.L. White officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

Shawn was born to Lonnie Eugene Baldwin and Barbara Roberts-Riddley on October 9, 1973, in Plainview, Texas. He attended and graduated from Plainview Independent School District  in 1992. After graduating high school, he attended Wayland Baptist University.

Shawn moved to Amarillo in 2000 where he met and married Diana Riles on June 15, 2002. He was an active member of Street Mob Motorcycle Club where he was known as "Slyde." The club would organize events that would help the community. Shawn was also active with Children's Cause. He was often asked to showcase his skills and his motorcycle for the Juneteenth Festivities during the Juneteenth Parade.

Shawn worked at Tyson foods for 20 years. He worked on the floor for 5 years, then was later promoted to the position of USDA Lead Inspector. He worked in that position for 15 years and was a diligent and loyal employee until his health failed in 2021.

Shawn was an avid New England Patriots and Boston Celtics fan. He also sang and worked on music with Dibiashi Ray and Maurice Clark, Sr.

Shawn was baptized at 10 years old, along with his favorite cousin Mike, who was 11 years old. Shawn's former pastor, Bennie Anderson, called Shawn "Little Dr. Slick," a nickname that was also given to Shawn's father, Lonnie.

Shawn is preceded in death by two infant children,  Shamontae Jeanette Roberts, and Deshawdrick Roberts; his maternal grandparents, Clevon Sr., and Eula Baldwin; paternal grandparents, Marvin Roberts Sr., and Rosevelt and Edna Hicks; and his in Father and Mother-in-law, Jeff and Ruby Riles.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Diana Riles Roberts; one son, Tyron Riles; six daughters, Jodeci Roberts, Jordyn Roberts, Ambrosha Kelly Roberts, Ormnie Kelly Roberts, Mearlina Kelly Roberts, and Shawndra Roberts; two granddaughters, Arya Kelly Roberts and Kyrellie Roberts; and two brothers, Royce Roberts, and Tyson Roberts, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A special Thank you to Aunt Ocie Toler for taking care of Shawn these past two years, and for all the dedicated love and service throughout his life.
