Naomi "Ruth" Houston Reed, 96, of Plainview, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 15, 2014 in Plainview. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 9th and Columbia Church of Christ Church in Plainview with Jim Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the personal care of Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Ruth was born on November 26, 1918 in Hobbs, New Mexico to Thomas Wesley Houston and Anna Bell (Hughes) Houston. She married Junior "June" Leamon Reed on September 4, 1939 in Clovis, New Mexico, they moved to Plainview in 1946. He preceded her in death in 1963. Over the years she cooked on harvest, worked at Cloverlake Dairy, taught knitting and crochet at Sears, and also put herself through business school. Ruth was a devoted member of 9th and Columbia Church of Christ for sixty-nine years. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband. Those left to cherish her memory are her two children; Suanna K. Bagwell and Thomas W. Reed and his wife Mary Alice, five grandchildren; Russell L. Reed and wife Marlene, Reagan Evans and husband Kevin, Roxanne Lee and husband Kory, Stephen Bagwell and wife Monica, Suzette Gagne and husband Chris, sixteen great-grandchildren; Jake L. Amason, Colton P. Jones, Rory J. Reed, Bailey Evans, Adrianne Evans, Lauryn Cearley and husband Chris, Taylor Berterreche, Cheyne Lee, Chase Lee, Tyler Bagwell, McKenna Bagwell, Devin Bagwell, Justin Gagne and wife Karen, Bradley Gagne, Darrin Gagne and Shawn Gagne and eight great-great grandchildren.
