Funeral services will be held at 11:00A.M., Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Kress. Interment will follow at Kress Cemetery.

Ruth Buske was born on January 17, 1928 in Winnsboro, Texas to Archie Lee and Stella (Martin) Whitworth. She married P.L. "Buddy" Buske on January 7, 1946 in Stamford, Texas. They were happily married for 63 years, Buddy passed in 2009.

Ruth was a proud homemaker and mother of five. She always enjoyed her work as a Sunday School teacher and especially loved her volunteer work with the Auxiliary Volunteers at the hospital, fondly known as the "Pink Ladies."

She was preceded in death by her husband, her son, Steve David Buske, brothers, Joe Dan, Bill Jack, and J.T. Whitworth, sisters, Oline Whitworth, Jewel Lee Pritchit, grandson, Jason Little, grand-daughter, Marka Ruth Merrell, and great grand-daughter, Heather Diane Little.

Ruth is survived by her daughters; Sheila Pruitt and husband Eddy of Plainview, Shirley Merrell and husband Mark of Childress, Linda Little and husband Jess of Odessa, son, Larry Buske and wife DeeLane of Kress, 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.

Memorials in Ruth's name may be made to the Hope Lodge in Lubbock or Gideon's International.
