Ruby Jewel Pinkerton, 70, of Plainview, passed away on April 6, 2017.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 10, 2017 in the Lemons Memorial Chapel with Pastor Eddy Helms, Calvary Baptist Church of Tulia officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Memorial Park.
The family will receive visitors from 5:00-7:00 on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at the Funeral Home.
Ruby was born on March 10, 1947 in Madisonville, Texas to Rex and Wanda (Mayes) Sprague. She married Charles Ward Pinkerton on June 25, 1967 in Halfway, Texas. The two lived in Halfway and were owners/operators of the Halfway Grocery & Station for many years. She attended the Methodist Church in Halfway until the day the doors closed for good. Ruby is remembered by her family and friends as a kind, loving and generous woman. She treated everyone she met with a heart filled with joy. She loved her children and grandchildren deeply. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sweetheart Charles Ward Pinkerton in January, 1996; two brothers, David Polk and Donald Sprague and one daughter-in-law, Synthia Pinkerton.
Those left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Sylvia Gay Harmon, Gladys Pinkerton Whisenhunt & husband Keith and Rhonda Belle Pinkerton; three sons, William Ward "Billy" Pinkerton, Rex Eugene Pinkerton and Kit Kelly Pinkerton and one sister, Kathy Henderson. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
