In Loving Memory of Ruben Martinez Rivas

Ruben Martinez Rivas, 77, of Arvin, California, passed away from natural causes Wednesday, May 27, 2026, in Plainview, Texas. Born on May 4, 1948, in La Feria, Texas, Ruben was the beloved son of Rosario and Leovaldo Rivas, who preceded him in death.

Ruben spent much of his life between California and Texas, building a reputation as a hardworking man, a skilled mechanic, and someone who could always make others smile. He worked for many years in agriculture and had a special talent for fixing cars. Whether helping a friend with a vehicle or sharing stories and laughter, Ruben was happiest when surrounded by people.

Known for his sense of humor, easygoing nature, and gift for making friends wherever he went, Ruben enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved spending time with family and friends, sharing conversations, laughter, and memories that will be cherished for years to come.

Ruben is survived by his wife, one daughter, five sons, fourteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory and the joy he brought to their lives.

Though his passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, his memory will live on through the stories shared, the lessons learned, and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Memorial services are currently being planned and will be held in California. Details will be announced by the family at a later date. Cremation services are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.
