Ruben Gerrera, 55 of Hale Center passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Iglesia Del Carpintero in Hale Center, Texas. Burial will follow in Hale Center Cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday, September 25, 2025 at 4:00 PM at Lemons Memorial Chapel in Plainview, Texas. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

Ruben was born in Olton, Texas on February 4, 1970, to Juan and Dora Gerrera. He grew up in Cotton Center and graduated from Cotton Center High School in 1988. He married Michelle Trutt on January 30, 2015, in Hale Center, Texas.

Ruben enjoyed spending his time doing mechanic work and watching tv. Early in his life he worked on the farm and later started to mow lawns, he enjoyed mowing everyone's lawn. He especially loved spending time with his family; family always came first, especially his dad.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Michelle Gerrera of Hale Center, Texas; his father, Juan Gerrera of Hale Center, Texas; his stepson, Anastacio Garcia of Hale Center, Texas; his brothers, John Gerrera (Bonnie) of Plainview, Texas, Joe Gerrera (Melissa) of Lubbock, Texas and Nick Gerrera (Maria) of Plainview, Texas; one sister, Andrea Longoria of Cotton Center, Texas; his mother-in-law, Betty Barker of Hale Center, Texas; a nephew-in-law, Claudio Torres; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Dora Gerrera; his sister, Lucy Gerrera; his maternal grandparents, Jose and Andela Rodriguez; his paternal grandmother, Lucy Herrera; his nephew, Justin Jaso; a brother-in-law, Antonio Longoria; and a sister-in-law, Laura Betancourt.
