Roy
Saucedo, Sr.
Mar 22, 1958 — Jun 11, 2026
The family of Rogelio "Roy" Saucedo is deeply saddened to announce his passing on Thursday, June 11, 2026. Roy was 68 years old and had a birthday a couple of months ago.
Roy was born on March 22, 1958, to Frank Saucedo, Sr. and Irma Saucedo in Lockney, Texas, where he was also raised. Roy moved to Plainview in 1999 after marrying Annette Gonzalez on November 6, 1999. Prior to moving to Plainview, Roy worked at the Lockney Co-op for several years. He was last employed by Walmart Distribution for 25 years until his passing. He was looking forward to retirement at the end of August 2026. He had an excellent work ethic, was a friend and mentor to many, and was respected by all. He was recently honored and grateful for his surprise birthday party by his coworkers.
Roy enjoyed golf and was an excellent minor Pit Master. He mastered the art of smoking brisket as a side gig, and his expertise was in constant demand. He loved gardening and was a self-made handyman. An avid sports enthusiast, he was a lifelong, passionate fan of the Texas Longhorns and spent many Saturdays cheering on his beloved team.
Roy is survived by his wife, Annette, and his son, Roy Jr., his brothers, Frank of Amarillo, Texas, Javier of Lockhart, Texas, and Joel of Lubbock, Texas, his sister, Melissa of Bremerton, WA. Roy is also survived by his extended family members, Melinda of Cour'd Lane, ID, Brenda of Lubbock, Texas, and Amy of Justin, Texas, along with many nieces and nephews throughout the USA.
Preceding him in death are his father, Frank Saucedo, Sr., and his mother, Irma Saucedo both of Lockney, Texas.
