Plainview - Rosalio "Charlie" Chavez, age 81, passed away on August 1, 2021 in Olton. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 11:00AM, Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Kress, Texas with Father Arturo Meza of Silverton, Texas officiating. Interment will follow in Kress Cemetery. A Rosary will be held at 6:00PM, Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.
Rosalio was born on August 31, 1939, in Brady, Texas to Cayetano and Guadalupe (Robles) Chavez. He married the love of his life, Oralia Rivera on October 29, 1960, in San Antonio, Texas. From this union they had 5 children. Mr. Chavez was a hard worker on the farm for over 50 years. Hobbies that he enjoyed were hunting, working on and fixing up old pickup trucks. Rosalio valued and cherished his family, his children were his world. He was a member of the Saint Paul's Catholic Church of Kress.
He is preceded in death by his wife in February of 2009, his son Andrew, parents Cavetano and Guadalupe (Robles) Chavez, three sisters Marcella Rodriguez, Andrea Chavez, Josphenia Bustillos and one brother Frank Chavez.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children; Frank Charlie Chavez and wife Sandra of Sunnyvale, Rosalio Chavez, Jr. and wife Michelle of Tulia, Nicanor Chavez and wife Lisa of Olton, Sylvia Carrasco of Amarillo, seventeen grandchildren, and thirty-three great-grandchildren, and two sisters; Herminia Hernandez and Tina Ramirez.
