Rosa Rios Castillo, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, in Plainview, Texas, at the age of 70. Born on June 5, 1956, in Walla Walla, Washington, Rosa’s life was a testament to devotion, strength, and the loving bonds of her family.

Rosa was the daughter to, Reynaldo Rios and Julia Cortez, both of whom preceded her in death and sister to the late, Maria Esther, whose memory she carried throughout her life. She worked as a union representative, and in that capacity, she always stood up for others.

Rosa was known for her outgoing personality, love of music, dancing and for having a big heart.

Rosa’s life was committed to her children. As a single mother, Rosa worked hard to provide for her five children. Rosa’s legacy is reflected in the strength and unity of her family, and in the memories they created together and the lessons she taught them by example.

Her legacy will continue in the lives of her children, Yessenia Gardea of Lockney, Laura Castillo of Lubbock, Wenseslado Castillo, Jr. and wife, Africa of Plainview, Erika Hernandez and husband, Julio of Plainview, and Hugo (Juice) Castillo and wife, Yesenia of Plainview; and her fourteen grandchildren, and twenty-five great-grandchildren.

Services will be scheduled at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.
