Roberto "Rove" Ruiz, 77 of Plainview passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2026. A visitation will be held at 11:00am - 8:00pm, Tuesday, September 29, 2026, with a Holy Rosary being recited at 6:00pm, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Plainview. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home.

Rove was born on September 14, 1949, in Valley Wells, Texas to Agustin Ruiz and Maria Cardona Ruiz. He married Amelia Flores on October 28, 1989, in Plainview, Texas and they were married for 31 years until her passing on July 22, 2020.

Rove worked at Azteca Milling in Plainview for 15 years and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Plainview.

Rove loved traveling, gambling, and all sports. He enjoyed traveling to the casinos, buying scratch off tickets, and especially going to watch the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Tech football games. Most of all he loved to spend time with his family, and his nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Amelia Ruiz, his parents, Agustin and Maria Ruiz, and his brother-in-law, Antonio Flores.

Rove is survived by his two sons, Agustin Ruiz of Plainview, and Alvaro Sifuentes, Jr. (Celene Ramirez) of Plainview; his daughter, Amelia Ruiz of Plainview; one grandchild, Christian Alvaro Sifuentes; four brothers, Ricardo Ruiz of Dallas, Rogelio Ruiz (Maria) both of Dallas, Ramiro Ruiz (Connie) of Dalhart, and Fernando Ruiz (Michelle) of Lubbock; and three sisters, Lola Mendez (Joe) of Sundown, Lidia Ruiz and Estella Flores both of Plainview.

Se llevará a cabo una visita de 11:00am a 8:00pm el martes 29 de septiembre de 2026, con un-Santo Rosario recitado a las 6:00pm en la Capilla Conmemorativa Lemons. Se celebrará una misa de funeral cristiano a las 10:00am del miércoles 30 de septiembre de 2026 en la Iglesia Católica Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe en Plainview. El entierro seguirá en el Plainview Memorial Park. Los arreglos funerarios están a cargo de Lemons Funeral Home.

Rove nació el 14 de septiembre de 1949 en Valley Wells, Texas, hijo de Agustín Ruiz y María Cardona Ruiz. Se casó con Amelia Flores el 28 de octubre de 1989 en Plainview, Texas, y estuvieron casados durante 31 años hasta su fallecimiento el 22 de julio de 2020.

Rove trabajó en Azteca Milling en Plainview durante 15 años y fue miembro de la Iglesia Católica Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe en Plainview.

A Rove le encantaba viajar, apostar y todos los deportes. Le gustaba viajar a los casinos, comprar boletos de rasca y gana y, especialmente, ir a ver los partidos de fútbol americano de los Dallas Cowboys y Texas Tech. Sobre todo, le encantaba pasar tiempo con su familia, y con sus sobrinos y sobrinas.

Le precedieron en la muerte su esposa, Amelia Ruiz, sus padres, Agustín y María Ruiz, y su cuñado, Antonio Flores.

Rove deja en vida a sus dos hijos, Agustín Ruiz de Plainview y Álvaro Sifuentes, Jr. (Celene Ramírez) de Plainview; su hija, Amelia Ruiz de Plainview; un nieto, Christian Álvaro Sifuentes; cuatro hermanos, Ricardo Ruiz de Dallas, Rogelio Ruiz (María), ambos de Dallas, Ramiro Ruiz (Connie) de Dalhart y Fernando Ruiz (Michelle) de Lubbock; y tres hermanas, Lola Méndez (Joe) de Sundown, Lidia Ruiz y Estella Flores, ambas de Plainview.
