Robert
Owens
August 13, 1938 – April 20, 2024
Robert Owens, age 85, passed away on April 20, 2024. Visitation/Viewing for Mr. Owens will be Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at 1:00pm until 4:00pm, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Cremation services are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.
Robert entered his earthly journey on August 13, 1938, in Menard, Texas to Floyd Chester Owens and Sally Jane Boxton. In high school, he was a very good basketball player along with his brother. They received many accolades and cheers from family and teammates.

Robert also worked for Plainview Bi-Products as a truck driver. Unfortunately, one night driving he had an accident that left him confined to a power chair. He lived with his youngest daughter, Michelle. He took care of her and after the accident she took care of him. They lived together until his passing at home.
Robert gave his life to the Lord and would pray, knowing that it was God who gave him the strength to carry on.
Robert is preceded in death by his daughter, Karen M. Gilbert, his granddaughter, Heather Owens Miles, his two grandsons, Brian Thompson, and Jeffrey Washington, his mother, Sally J. Boxton, his father, Floyd Owens, his sister, Sarah G. Hallman, his brother, Gabriel Boxton, and Betty.
He leaves to cherish his memory, Ruby Owens; a brother, LC Owens and his wife Pauline of Plainview; sister, Sarah M. Harper of Lubbock; daughters: Lisa Allen, Sonya Thompson, Kirsta Owens and Mia Owens, of Amarillo, Iris Washington of Waco, and Michelle Owens of San Angelo, nineteen grandchildren, forty three great-grandchildren, thirteen great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and dear friends.
