Paula G. Salas, 86 of Plainview, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at her residence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00am, Monday, September 9, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery. A viewing will be held at 2:00pm until 8:00pm, followed by a Holy Rosary being recited at 6:00pm, Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.
Paula was born on January 15, 1938, in Anson, Texas to Martin and Antonia Gonzales. She worked in the school cafeteria for over 30 years. Paula was a woman of God and served in the church at Sacred Heart Catholic Church as a Guadalupana.
Paula was known as "Little Red" because of her beautiful red hair and was known as a mother figure to everyone. Anyone who came over to her home never left with an empty stomach. She was an exceptional woman and the cornerstone of our family. Her journey was marked by her extraordinary ability to connect with others, as she generously shared her table and her heart with all, never knowing a stranger.
Paula is survived by her two sons, Anatalio Salas Jr. and wife Maria of Idalou, Texas and Jesus Jaime Salas and wife Rachel of Lubbock, Texas; three daughters, Enedina Molina and husband Robert of Lockney, Texas, Armendina Obrien and husband Elias of Belton, Texas and Guadalupe Salas Collins and husband John of Plainview, Texas; thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren, and one brother; Yreneo Gonzales.
Paula is preceded in death by her parents; Martin and Antonia Gonzales, two brothers; Manuel Gonzales and Martin Gonzales Jr, three sisters, Maria Luisa Herrera, Dolores Ramos and Janie Cortez.
