Othella Jean McDonald was born September 18, 1927 in Montague County to Albert and Tessie (Shipley) Allison. She married David Dickson McDonald on August 17, 1942 on the side of the road in Bellevue, Texas. She is preceded in death by both her parents, her husband, David Dickson McDonald, one son, Dickey Ray McDonald, her sister, Marjorie Vice, one grandson and two great-grandsons. She is survived by sons, David and wife, Clorene (Plainview), Gary McDonald and wife Barbara (Whitehouse, TX.), Donny McDonald and wife, Lisa (Idalou, TX.), and Mark McDonald and wife, Sharron (Odessa), daughters, Betty Edwards (Willmeton, N.C.), Deborah Dickey and husband, Earl (Plainview), and daughter-in-law Judy McDonald (Wichita Falls, TX.); 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Freddie Vice; sisters-in-law Alva Jo Phillips, MaryDean McDonald and Wyvonne McDonald and several nieces and nephews.
Othella was a very devoted Christian who served her church faithfully. She was a member of College Heights Baptist Church. She loved her family dearly and tried to always make each and every one of them and their spouses feel special.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Lemons Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Don Robertson officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Services arrangements are under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., on Friday, March 15, 2013.
