Plainview - Nino Zapata, age 67 of Plainview, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023, at his residence. Family will have visitation for Mr. Zapata on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, from 4:00pm-6:00pm, followed by a Prayer Service at 6:00pm-8:00pm at Templo Sinai in Plainview. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm, on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Templo Sinai, officiated by Pastor Steve Martinez. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Nino Zapata, Jr. was born August 23, 1955, in Tyler, Texas to Saturnino Zapata, Sr. and Celia (Garza) Zapata.

Nino's favorite pass pastimes were buying lottery tickets, spending time with family, and watching sports. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys Fan and he especially loved fishing, most of all.

Nino is survived by his parents: Saturnino and Celia Zapata of Plainview, one brother, Sammy, and Dee Zapata and one sister, Norma Zapata all of Plainview, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by one brother, Saul Zapata and one sister, Leticia Peña.
