Nancy Marlin Slaton (Young) Craig, 84 of Amarillo, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at her home. Graveside Service for Ms. Craig will be in Plainview Cemetery at 2:00pm, Thursday, July 28, 2022. Viewing will be from 2:00pm-7:00pm, (family will be in attendance from 5:00pm-7:00pm) at Lemons Funeral Home, Wednesday, July 27, 2022. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Nancy was born May 12, 1938, in Plainview, Texas to Henry Dyer Slaton and Mozelle Marlin Slaton. Nancy graduated from Plainview High School and Panhandle State University with a bachelor's degree. She received a master's degree in library science from West Texas A&M University. Nancy was an educator/librarian who worked for more than 45 years in the Texas public school system. She was a librarian for Dalhart ISD and Plainview ISD.

Nancy had numerous beloved cousins as well as lifelong and recent friends. She left a legacy of a strong Christian faith, unconditional love and adoration for her family and friends. She also left a legacy of her love for books and her library. Nancy lived and walked by the Spirit, with the fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Gal 5:22-23) She held an unwavering faith and lived with grace and class. She attended First Baptist Church of Plainview, First Baptist Church of Dalhart, and Hillside Christian in Amarillo.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Dyer and Mozelle Slaton; her brother John Henry Slaton, and husbands: Jack Young, Jack McClung, and Woodrow Burton Craig.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Arellano and husband Marc, her two sons: John Young, and wife Valerie and Stephen Young and wife D'Aun. Grammies to granddaughters Khristina Young, Tasha Wheeler and husband Ryan and grandsons Joshua Young and wife Katie, Jeffery Hunter Young and Joshua Arellano. As well as her precious great Grandsons Dyer, Chesley and Marshall.
