Minerva Luera Esquibel, 67, of Plainview passed away on March 12, 2026. A visitation will be held at 4:00pm, with a Holy Rosary being recited at 6:00pm, on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am, Monday, March 16, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainview. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home.
Minerva was born on December 2, 1958, in Muleshoe, Tx to Cruz Luera Sr. and Rosa Luera. She graduated from Abernathy High School. Minerva married Rafel on August 27, 1977, in Abernathy, Tx and they shared 44 beautiful years together before his passing on March 12, 2022.
Minerva enjoyed spending her time making quilts and crocheting. She was known to be the “seamstress” of the family, and she took great pride in every piece she made. She made every quilt with love. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and she was involved in everyone’s life. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters; Veronica Ann Esquibel of Plainview, Tx and Maricella Esquibel of Lubbock, Tx; one son, Ralph Esquibel Jr. of Plainview, Tx; four grandchildren, Angel Almanza, Antonio Almanza, Ryan Esquibel and Analyssa Almanza; five brothers, Cruz Luera (Inez) of Wallis, Tx, Rosalio Luera (Aurelia) of Lubbock, Tx, David Luera of Abernathy, Tx, Daniel Luera of Lubbock, Tx and Gilbert Luera (Jesusa) of Lubbock, Tx; two sisters, Christine Luera (Jay Cordova) of Abernathy, Tx and Linda Sue Luera of Plainview, Tx and many nieces and nephews
She is preceded in death by her husband, Rafel Esquibel and her parents Cruz Luera Sr and Rosa Luera
