Michael C. Polanco, 68, of Olton, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2013, in Lubbock. Cremation service arrangements are under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview.
Michael Contreras Polanco was born on July 20, 1944 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Frank and Carmen (Contreras) Polanco. He grew up in Texas and attended school in Olton. Michael proudly served his country in the military for 20 years. He was a great mechanic and did auto body and fender work as well. Michael loved music and was an exceptional musician. He played several instruments and was very adept at playing his guitar and harmonica at the same time. Michael was well loved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed.
Michael is survived by his children, Michael Polanco Jr., and Holly Polanco Sagan, both of Bakersfield, California; his brothers and sisters: Zulema Polanco Garcia, Amador Polanco, Gloria Polanco, Andrea Polanco, and Margaret Polanco, all of California; brother, Joe Polanco, of Phoenix; special friend, Donna Martinez of Olton; eight grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers: Manuel and Raymond Polanco.
