Michael J. Nelson, 80, passed away June 9, 2024. Private Graveside services have been held for Mr. Nelson in Anton Cemetery, Anton, Texas. Funeral services were under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

Michael was born on September 8, 1943, in Littlefield, Texas to L.J. Nelson and Geneva Sue Newton. He married Allie Nelson on December 19, 1974, in Big Spring, Texas.

Michael served in the US Army, in Vietnam. He was affectionately known by many as the "Limo Man." He was a rural carrier for a season and took pleasure in working in his yard.

He is preceded in death by his parents, L.J. and Geneva Nelson, and one aunt, Jesse "Pat" Spencer.

Michael is survived by his wife, Allie Nelson of Plainview; three sons, James Nelson of Odessa, John Dunbar of Ocean Springs, MS, Jay Nelson (Matthew Thompson) of San Diego, CA; two daughters, Kristi (Ed) Nesbitt of Lubbock, Patsy (Justin) Fipps of Floydada; one brother, Patrick (Kathy) Nelson of Elgin, IL; nineteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
