Plainview- Maura Samarripa, age 80, of Plainview, passed away on May 16, 2013 in Lubbock. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00PM, Monday, May 20, 2013 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment follows at Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of the Lemons Funeral Home.

Maura Rodriguez Samarripa was born on January 13, 1933 in Austin, Texas to Benito Rodriguez Sr. and Manuela (Ojeda) Rodriguez. She married Librado Samarripa on March 23, 1952 in Austin. The couple was blessed with over 60 years of matrimony and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainview.
Maura was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.

Her survivors include her husband, Librado Samarripa of Plainview; her children,Librado Samarripa Jr and wife Virginia of Plainview, Pete Samarripa and wife Olga of Plainview, Luisa Salazar of Plainview, Rosa Linda Perez of Bastrop, Victoria Samarripa of Plainview, Pablo Samarripa and wife Margaret of Olton, Reveca Amaya and husband Roy of Plainview, Manuel Samarripa and partner Kathy Mendoza of Hereford, Linda James and husband Garrett of Bastrop; her siblings, Ben Rodriguez, Elisa Rodriguez, Theresa Ruiz, and Maria Olvera, 22 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

Maura was preceded in death by her parents Benito Rodriguez Sr. and Manuela Rodriguez, her brothers, Alejandro Rodriguez, Marcelino Rodriguez, Jose Rodriguez, and Andrew Rodriguez.
