Obituary

Matthew Bergil, 29 of Plainview, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2020. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 10 o' clock in the morning on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Abundant Grace Church with Pastor Joe Barrera officiating.  Interment will follow in Plainview Cemetery.  A Rosary will be recited at 6 o' clock in the evening on Friday at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Matthew was born on October 13, 1991 to Jessie A. and Diana Bergil in Plainview.  He graduated from Plainview High School in 2010 and had attended South Plains College.  Matthew was an adrenaline junkie and enjoyed all kinds of hobbies.  He liked to attend rock concerts; playing on any game console; working out; riding his bike; playing hide and seek and playing his guitar.  Matthew was extremely competitive in anything he did.  Above all, he loved his family and cherished every moment he got to spend with them.  Even though Matthew was taken way to soon; he left behind so many memories that will be treasured for a lifetime.  Matthew was known by many and will be missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Samuel and Sarah Martinez; paternal grandparents:  Enrique and Sarah Jimenez; and two aunts: Hilda Martinez and Ramona Bueno.

Matthew is survived by his parents: Jessie A. and Diana Bergil of Plainview; one son: Jaiden Barbian of Plainview: two daughters: Gabriella Nicole Thomashide and Arianna Faith Bergil both of Plainview; one brother: Lucas Emilio Bergil and wife Maribel of Plainview; and three sisters: Carolee Castillo and Husband Joe Luis, Ivy Valencia Bergil and Samantha Sarah Bergil all of Plainview.
