Matilde L. Salinas, 83 of Kress, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022. A Funeral Service will be at 1:00pm, Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Lemons Memorial Chapel with Pastor Joe Barrera officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park. A viewing will be from 4:00pm-8:00pm, Friday, February 4, 2022 at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Matilde was born on March 14, 1938, in McCoy, Texas to Ascencion and Francisca (Martinez) Lopez. She enjoyed music, dancing, and was the life of the party. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Matilde was a father and mother to her children and was dedicated to her grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Rogelio and wife Debbie Salinas, Robert and wife Gloria Salinas; four daughters, Linda Juarez, Mary Ellen and husband Fidel Torres, Chris and husband Angel Valentin, Jr., Yolanda and husband Tony Moralez; one sister, Margarita Lopez; twenty-eight grandchildren, fifty-six great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by two sons, Ramon, and Ramiro Salinas; one daughter, San Juana Salinas; her parents; and three brothers, Jesus, Fernando, and Benito Lopez.
