Mary Catherine Tutt, 69, of Dallas, formerly of Plainview, passed away on February 22, 2017.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Plainview Cemetery.

Mary was born on July 27, 1947 in Plainview to Joseph R. and Wilma Julia (Richardson) Morris.  She graduated from Albuquerque, NM.

She worked for many years at Shorty's Barbeque.  She was also proud to have served as a Correctional Officer.  Mary drove a bus for several years for the Plainview Independent School District.  Before she retired, she enjoyed driving a bus for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit System.

Her sister Wilma recalls that when they were young girls living in Plainview, they used to walk a mile to attend church at Seth Ward Baptist Church.  Their parents took them to Yellowstone several times.  Fishing and camping became a vital part of Mary's family tradition which she shared with her sons. Mary felt so blessed to have married the love of her life, Tommie Tutt on December 26, 2002.  Tommie and Mary enjoyed fishing together as well.  While in Dallas, Mary attended the First Baptist Church of Crandall.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, James Charles Morris, William Morris and Donald Trotter and two sisters, Shirlene Rainey and Helen Wesley.

Those left to cherish memory are her beloved Tommie; two sons, David Barrett of Lubbock and Delbert Barrett of Muleshoe; two sisters, Dorothy Faye Duncan of Las Lunas, NM and Wilma Ann Jinson of Stella, MO.  She is also survived by four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
