Mary Alice Purdom, age 76 of Plainview passed away in the early morning hours of August 8, 2016. Mary was born on August 22, 1939 in Seymour, TX to Thomas E. and Juanita (Kuykendahl) Purdom. She was Baptist by faith. Mary's parents were share croppers so the family was never in one place very long, but Mary eventually found her way to Plainview where she raised her children. After her children, were grown, Mary became the Office Manager for High Plains Mill-Wright. She worked for them for 15 years until her retirement in 2004.

Until her illness required her to have around the clock care, one of Mary's favorite past times was sitting on the front porch with her beloved Black Lab, "Buddy".

Those left to cherish Mary's memory are her children, Clinton L. Walker, Carl "Pat" Bush, James Edward "Bo" Bush, Brendon Thomas Purdom, Johnny Eugene Purdom, and Mellinnie, her beloved dog, Buddy, 7 grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Thomas and Bill Purdom. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Bonnie Sue Hamilton. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
