Mary Jo McCreless, 85, of Canyon passed away on November 10, 2014 in Amarillo, TX. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2014 in Lemons Memorial Chapel with Chaplin Bryan Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the personal care of Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Mrs. McCreless was born on September 26, 1929 in Fyffe, AL. to the late Ted and Artel (Bell) Dawson. She graduated from Fyffe High School, and then attended and graduated from Snead College, and also attended Jacksonville College. Mrs. McCreless married Willard McCreless on November 7th, 1950 in Georgia. He preceded her in death on December 21, 1996. She was known for her love of gardening, and anything that had to do with outdoor yard work. She was also a member of Date Street Baptist Church. Mrs. McCreless is preceded in death by her parents Ted and Artel, and husband; Willard. Those left to cherish her memory are; one son, Bruce McCreless, three daughters, Renee Sharp, Denise Munson, Lisa Cox, one Brother Jack Dawson, two sisters, Dot Bowen, and Kat Sharp. She was also blessed with six grandchildren, Wesley Holt, Chantry Meyer, Cassie Holt, Dakota Meyer, Nicole Rendon, Callie Munson, and two great-grandchildren; Addilyn Shay Hernandez, and Mila Rose Holt.
