Mary Lea Taylor Hickman, 69 of Plainview, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022, in Abilene, Texas with her family by her side. On Wednesday, March 2, 2022, a private viewing was held from 9am-11am, at Lemons Funeral Home and was followed by a 1pm Graveside Service in Afton Cemetery, Afton, Texas. Arrangements were entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Mary was born to Walter Taylor and Lola Mae Taylor (Kocher) on February 21, 1953, in Sedan, Kansas. In 1960, she moved with her parents to Matador, Texas where she attended High School and married the "love of her life", B.C. (Bobby Carol) Hickman on July 21, 1969.  That same year they moved to Roaring Springs. Eventually they moved to Plainview, Texas where she resided.

Mary worked as a bookkeeper for their family business and worked for Westridge Manor and Vicks Cleaners. She also taught Sunday School for 12 years.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her husband, kids, and grandkids as well as her fur babies, whom she loved.  She was a housewife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed working in her garden tending to her roses and various flowers, her favorite were pansies.

Mary is survived by her husband, B.C. (Bobby Carol) Hickman; two daughters: Peggie Williams, Ginny Gomez, and husband David; one son, Randy Hickman, and wife Connie, all of Plainview, Texas; ten grandchildren: Charles Williams and wife Spice, Judith Ann Williams, Kievan Young, Landon Daniels, Kolton Daniels, Jordan Gomez, Joe Dominguez and wife Olivia, John Dominguez and wife Jennifer, Sabrina DeLeon, Dennis DeLeon and wife Krystal; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas (Red) Walter Taylor and Lola Mae Taylor; one brother, Bill Taylor; one sister, Linda Orr.
