IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Ellen
Herrera-Pedroza
November 26, 1955 – February 17, 2026
Mary Ellen Herrera Pedroza entered eternal life surrounded by the love of her family, on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, leaving behind a legacy rooted in faith, strength, and unwavering devotion to those she cherished most. The family of Mrs. Pedroza will have visitation on Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm with a Holy Rosary being recited at 6:00pm at Lemons Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am, on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Plainview. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.
Born on November 26, 1955, in Olton, Texas, to Hector Herrera, Sr., and Maria Luisa Gonzalez-Herrera, Mary Ellen's life was a reflection of the values she held dear: family, faith, culture, and resilience. As a faithful member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Plainview, she entrusted her life to God and carried that trust with her through every joy and every trial.
To know Mary Ellen was to experience warmth. She had a way of making others feel seen, welcomed, and cared for. Her love was not just spoken — it was lived daily. It was found in the meals she prepared, the holidays she so beautifully decorated, the rose bushes she tended, and the countless quiet sacrifices she made to ensure her family was provided for and happy. Caring for her family was not simply something she did; it was her vocation and her greatest joy.
She loved to dance, to laugh wholeheartedly, to celebrate her heritage, and to enjoy music and movies. Her red lipstick, her beautifully styled hair, and her radiant smile were small but unmistakable signatures of her vibrant spirit. She embraced life fully — shopping trips, traveling, simple joys like her BBQ Sandwich from Allsups — always with gratitude and enthusiasm.
Now, as we grieve her absence, we cling to Christ's promise in John 14:1–3:
"Do not let your hearts be troubled… In my Father's house there are many dwelling places… I go to prepare a place for you."
With hope in the Resurrection, we trust that she has been welcomed into the Father's house and reunited with her beloved husband, Frank Pedroza; her daughter, Yvette Pedroza; her parents; and her brothers, in everlasting peace.
Those who remain to honor and carry forward her legacy are her two sons, Steven Pedroza and wife Linda of Plainview, and Adrian Pedroza of Lubbock; her daughter, Stephanie Salas and husband Jeff of Cresson, Texas; her brother, Herman Herrera and wife Beatrice of Plainview; her eleven grandchildren, Devin, Alyssa, Kayla, Adrian and Zadian Pedroza, Matthew, Yvonne, and Michael Tijerina, Xxavier Guerra and wife Nayeli, Xandra Jackson and husband Jaylon, and Alexander Naranjo; and her four great-grandchildren, Christian Guerra, Aerilyn Fuentes, Jaidyn Jackson, and Damien Tatum.
