Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Plainview Cemetery.

Mary was born on September 25, 1926, in Parkville, Platt County, Missouri to Thomas Leroy and Lucy Ann (Roach) Cole. She was the only girl in a family of six brothers. She was an adventurous, strong girl having hopped a freight train from Mexico, Missouri to California at the age of 16. She worked at a fish market for awhile as well as other odd jobs. Eventually, she caught another train that took her back to Missouri. When she arrived there she met and became friends with her future mother in law. Eventually, Carl E. Bowles returned home on leave from the military. The two met and the rest, as they say, is history. They married when she was 19 years old and they remained married until his passing in September, 2009.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Carl and one son, Carl S. Bowles, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Barbara Adams of Plainview and four sons, Victor Lee Bowles and Stanley Ray Bowles, both of Missouri, Randy Joe Bowles of Sapulpa, OK and Bradley Bowles, of Plainview. She is also survived by one brother, George William Cole and 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
