Martin Navarro, 91 of Petersburg, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, at his residence. A visitation will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026, at Lemons Memorial Chapel at 4:00pm to 8:00pm with a prayer service starting at 6:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Petersburg, Texas at 2:00pm. Burial will follow in Petersburg Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

Martin was born in Rosebud, Texas on January 2, 1935, to Jose and Andrea Navarro. He came to Petersburg in 1940 and attended Petersburg schools. Martin married Victoria Hernandez on January 4, 1969, at Mission Bautista of Petersburg.

Martin came to know the Lord and Savior and was baptized on October 29, 1978, at the Mission Bautista of Petersburg. He served as the President of the Baptist Brotherhood, the church training director, the assistant treasurer, and youth counselor. Martin enjoyed mowing the lawn, going out to visit people, as he never knew a stranger, and he especially loved  it when his family would visit him.

Martin is survived by his wife, Victoria Navarro; four brothers, Juan Navarro, Jose Navarro Jr., Jesus Navarro, and Roberto Navarro; two sisters, Margarita Olivares and Rosa Barnes, and several nieces and nephews.

Martin is preceded in death by his son, Martin Navarro, Jr.; parents, Jose and Andrea Navarro; four brothers, Clemente, Victor, Erminio, and Eusebio Navarro; two sisters, Angela Robledo, and Luisa Navarro.
