Martha Josephine Griffith, 92, of Plainview passed away on Monday, October 27, 2014 in Plainview, TX. Services will be held on Friday, October 31, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Northwest Church of Christ with Dee Teel officiating. Burial will follow in Lockney Cemetery under the personal care of Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Mrs. Griffith was born April 2, 1922 in Hale County to the late Thomas Fletcher and Emily (McWilliams) Wells. She married Hubert Griffith on October 15, 1941. He preceded her in death on August 1, 2008. Mrs. Griffith was known as a wonderful seamstress, she loved working with flowers, and gardening. Everyone would tell you she loved being around her family and friends, and there was not a person she would not visit. She also took pride in being a member of the EXPOW; her husband was a POW in WWII. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter; Barbara Griffith, one brother, and one sister. Those left to cherish her memory are one son; David Griffith, one daughter Rita Westfall, and one sister Nell Quisenberry.
