Martha Barrera, 92 of Plainview, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023. A viewing for Mrs. Barrera will be at 4:00pm on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, followed by a Holy Rosary being recited at 6:00pm at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00am on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Plainview. Cremation services will follow. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Martha was born on April 6, 1931, in Gonzales, Texas to Luis and Juana (Rios) Moreno. She married Asencion Barrera in 1950. Martha enjoyed music and dancing, doing puzzles, watching tv, and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church for more than 50 years where she served as an Guadalupana, Usher, Communion Minister, Cursillista, and would help with Jamaica's.

Martha is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Joe, and Sylvia Barrera of Plainview; two grandsons, Christopher, and Joey Barrera; and two great grandchildren, Jonathan and Jodeci, and one niece, Manuela Castillo.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ascencion Barrera, and one son, Lupe Barrera.
