Maria Felicidad Melendrez, 93, of Plainview, died Friday, October 18, 2013 at her residence. Rosary will be said at Lemons Memorial Chapel, Sunday, October 20, at 6:00 PM. Mass of the Ressurection will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monday, October 21, 2013, 2:00 PM. Arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home.

She was born in Mission, Texas, on June 10, 1920 to Vicente and Maria (Allaniz) Cantu. She married Reynaldo M. Melendrez, Sr., April 30, 1939 and he preceded her in death in 1996.

She is survived by her 13 children; Margarita M. Ramirez, Maria M. Garcia, Rodolfo C. Melendrez, Reynaldo C. Melendrez, Jr., Olga Chavez, Ernestina M. Adams, San Juanita "Janie" M. Gonzales, Martha M. Recio, Irma M. Chambliss, Elida M. Chavez, Rojelio C. Melendrez, Louis C. Melendrez, and Enrique C. Melendrez. Also surviving are her 50 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
