A Rosary for Maria will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at noon on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Maria was born on December 3, 1924 in Laredo, Texas, to Donaciano and Petra (Paredes) Barrientos. She married Isdel Gamboa on December 23, 1945 in Laredo and they were married until his passing on June 20, 1991.

She was a kind, loving person who cherished being a homemaker. She treasured her husband, children and grandchildren and she always had room for one more. Maria was so proud of her children and grandchildren's educational and personal accomplishments.

Maria was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Isdel; two daughters, Maria Antonieta Ballesteros and Jacinta Ballesteros; her adopted son, Homero Barrientos and five siblings.

Those left to cherish her memory are 3 sons, Isdel Gamboa, Jr., Gerardo Gamboa and Ramiro Gamboa; 6 daughters, Magdalena Flores, Maria Isabel Gutierrez, Sara Valencia, Adrianna Garcia, Rosa Maria Rodriguez and Sandra Louise Hernandez; 35 grandchildren, 64 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
