Maria Pilar Escobar, 76 of Plainview, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, in Amarillo. A funeral service for Mrs. Escobar will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Spanish Church of the Nazarene officiated by David Sanchez. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, with a prayer service at 6:00pm, Friday, March 6, 2026, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.
Maria was born on September 19, 1949, in Wilson, Arkansas to Francisco Enriquez Balli and Juanita Ramirez Balli.
Maria dedicated her time to serving as a Sunday school teacher, where she shared her faith. Her creativity showed in her passion for making crafts and sewing. Maria also cherished moments spent with her sisters and going out to eat at Jalisco’s Restaurant.
Maria found her greatest joy spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren creating beautiful memories.
She is preceded in death by two daughters, Angel, and Jane Escobar; one granddaughter, Angelica Miranda Valdez; her parents, Francisco and Juanita Balli; two brothers, Luis Loya and Manuel Martinez; three sisters, Gregoria Patino, Beatrice Rivera, and Rosa Martinez.
Maria is survived by two sons, Juan Escobar, Jr., and Mike Escobar and wife Maryann, both of Plainview; seven daughters: Linda Flores and husband, David, Rosemary Escobar, Hopie Escobar, Elizabeth Ramirez and husband, Ruben, Jr., all of Plainview, Victoria Apodaca and husband, Alonzo of Lubbock, Vanessa Escamilla and husband, Joshua of Amarillo, and Celestina Maria Escobar of Plainview; one brother, Frank Balli of Plainview; two sisters, Francis B. Lollar, and Lucia B. Moreno, both of Plainview; twenty-one grandchildren, and thirty-eight great-grandchildren.
