Plainview-Maria Teresa Armendariz, 48, of Plainview, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, October 28, 2013. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with Father Raymundo Manriquez officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Cemetery. Funeral service arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Lemons Memorial Chapel.

Maria 'Nina' Armendariz was born on April 4, 1965 in Olton, Texas, to Jesus and Herminia (Franco) Tinoco. She and Jesus Armendariz were married on September 7, 1985 in Plainview, and shared 28 wonderful years together. Maria, better known as "Tia Nina", was loved dearly by her family and friends. She was very giving and caring. Maria was everyone's favorite aunt and second mom. She cared about everyone's children and many of them either lived with her, or wanted to live with her. She was an extremely "crafty" woman who was very creative when making arts and crafts. Maria held a 'black belt' in shopping as she was very adept at finding the best shopping deals. She will be missed by many. Maria belonged to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Maria is survived by her husband, Jesus Armendariz; daughter, Herminia Armendariz; son, Oscar Armendariz and his wife, Tania; grandsons, Esteban Armendariz and Sergio Armendariz, all of Plainview; six brothers; five sisters; and many, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Herminia Tinoco.
