Margarita Chavez, 63 of Kress, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 o' clock in the morning on Monday, October 29, 2018 at St. Paul's Catholic Church with Father David Contreras celebrating. Interment will follow at Kress Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited at 7 o' clock in the evening on Sunday at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview.

Margarita was born on February 20, 1955 to Jose Trevino Sr. and Maria in Rio Grande, TX. Margarita was a cook in Kress for over 30 years. She truly loved cooking and being with family. Margarita enjoyed singing and dancing and softball. She made sure her kids stayed active in sports while they were young and was their number one fan. Margarita was a member of St Paul's Catholic Church in Kress and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her father and one brother: Joe Trevino Jr.

Margarita is survived by her husband, Cruz of the home; her mother: Maria Trevino of Kress; one son: Anthony Chavez and wife Jennifer of Borger; two daughters: Wendy Vela and husband Moy of Wellington and Sondra Chavez of Amarillo; two brothers: David and Freddy Trevino both of Kress; seven sisters: Andrea Knipe of Tennessee; Mary Mora of Plainview, Lupe Herrera of Lubbock, Josie Trevino of Dallas, Yolanda McCoy of Dumas, Juanita Costilla of Kress, and Sofia Morales of Hart and eight grandchildren.
