Margaret "Maggie" Sanchez, 84 of Plainview, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at her residence. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Iglesia Del Nazareno. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Lemons Memorial Chapel.
Maggie was born on July 4, 1940, in Flatonia, Texas to Victoriano Herrera and Margarita Melcher. She married Ramon Sanchez on December 5, 1959. Mr. Sanchez passed away on March 5, 1981. She worked as a custodian for Plainview Independent School District for 20 years, until 1998.
Maggie was a member of Iglesia del Nazareno since 1959. In the 50 years of being a member, she saw many pastors come and go, she stayed faithful. She was a die-hard Dallas Cowboy fan; she loved decorating her Christmas tree with all Dallas Cowboys' decorations.
She especially loved spending her time taking care of her grandchildren and attending all their sporting events and activities.
Maggie is survived by one son, David Sanchez (Delia) of Plainview; two daughters, Mariana Rodriguez (Ernest) of Plainview and Alice Coonradt (Dean) of Oklahoma City, OK; ten grandchildren: Monica Lopez, Victor Lara, Ernest Rodriguez Jr., James Rodriguez, Jared Rodriguez, Justin Rodriguez (Savanna), Valerie Crise (Vince), Wesley Coonradt (Lauyrn), Thomas Coonradt (Christina), Andrew Coonradt (Corrina); one sister, Beatrice Barrera of El Campo, Texas; ten great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Victoriano and Margarita Herrera; five brothers: Joe, Jesse, Gregorio, Simon, and Victoriano Herrera; four sisters: Emilia Jasso, Maria Billegas, Inez Juarez, and Gloria Cavazos.
