Marcine was born on November 25, 1924 in Amarillo, Texas to Alma and Harvey Keeney. The family moved to Plainview, Texas where Marcine attended Plainview High School. She loved participating in the marching band. She married her high school sweetheart, James, after he completed his service in WWII in 1946. Marcine graduated from Texas Tech University in 1948 with a Bachelors in Business Administration. The couple moved to Houston in 1948. Marcine was an executive assistant at City National Bank in downtown Houston until November 1952 when her first child was born. She was an active mother and homemaker raising four children in Houston. Marcine was a Leader in Bible Study Fellowship for many years, both in Houston and in Lubbock where the couple moved in 1994. Her sweet spirit and love of the Lord was shared with many, and she was able to mentor many young women during her leadership service. She was active in Spring Branch Community Church in Houston and Cornerstone Bible Church in Lubbock for many years. One of her favorite scriptures is Hebrews 12:2. One of her favorite hymns is "Great is Thy Faithfulness" by Thomas Chisholm. She was a doting grandmother for her six grandchildren. Marcine enjoyed needlepoint and cross stitch and won several national awards for her needlework.

Marcine is survived by her husband of 68 years, James, of Lubbock, and their children: Jim Dement (Katy) of Lake Zurich, IL; Marcia Galeoto (Raymond) of Ocala, FL; Mary Williams (Chris) of Arlington, TX; Sara Dement of Dallas, TX and her husband Kenneth Reese. Grandchildren: Jeremy Williams (Krista); Russell Dement (Raechel); Gemma Galeoto, Stephen Galeoto, John Galeoto, and Allison Williams. Great-grandchild: Joshua Dement. She is also survived by her sister Dell Dickenson, several nephews, nieces and great nephews and great nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Randall Keeney.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Brenda Ruthardt for her tender care, Synergy of Lubbock and Interim Hospice for their assistance over the past months. There will be a private graveside service for family members at the Plainview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in her name to Lubbock Impact.
