Obituary

Manuela Alcozer, 83, of Plainview passed away Friday, June 17, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Trinity Life Church with Pastor Steve Martinez officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Cemetery. There will be a prayer service held on Monday evening from 6:00-7:30 at Lemons Memorial Chapel.

Manuela was born on June 15, 1933 in Rosales, Mexico to Ricardo Sorola and Maria Del Refugio Serrano. She married Andres Alcozer in 1964 and together they raised a beautiful family. They remained married until his passing in January, 1988. The most important possession in life to Manuela was having a family. She treasured her children and grandchildren and lived to take care of them. She is remembered by her daughters as a strong, bold, outspoken woman. She could lighten even the hardest situations with her excellent sense of humor. She attended church with both of her daughters, at Trinity Life Christian Fellowship and Church of God of the Firstborn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andres; one son, Jessie Alcozer; her son-in-law, Isidoro "Lolo" Rodriguez; five sisters and five brothers.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Janie Rodriguez and Guadalupe Alcozer and husband Marco Escamilla; six grandchildren, Gina Villalobos and husband Anthony, Isidoro Rodriguez, III, John Angel Rodriguez, Jessie Rodriguez, Noah Rodriguez and Jeffrey Alcozer; three great-grandchildren, Gianna, A.J. and Isaiah Rodriguez. She is also survived by one brother, Blas Sorola; one sister, Lupe Sorola de Chuey as well as many nieces and nephews.
