Manuel Mendoza, Sr., 75 of Plainview, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022, in Plainview, Texas. A Memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Manuel was born September 1, 1946, to Santana Mendoza, Sr., and Guadalupe (Diaz) Mendoza in Karnes City, Texas. He married Beatrice Reyes,  June 24, 1972, and together had 4 children. Manuel worked at Cargill until the plant closed. He enjoyed working in the yard, traveling, listening to music as well as watching western movies and wrestling.

Manuel is preceded in death by his parents, Santana, Sr., and Guadalupe Mendoza.

He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Mendoza; 2 daughters: Christy (Mark) Garces of Amarillo, Lori Mendoza of Plainview; 2 sons: Manuel Mendoza, Jr. of McKinney, and Jesse (Isabel) Mendoza of Beaumont, CA; 4 granddaughters: Calista, Emma and Sophie Garces, and Savanna Mendoza; 5 grandsons: Stephen, Desmond, Derrin, Nolan, and Isaiah Mendoza; 1 brother, Santana Mendoza, Jr., of Floydada and 1 sister, Margaret Lucas of Olton.
